WHAT WE DO
We are available to assist you at all stages of your journey through the increasingly complex special education system: from suspected disability, first diagnosis of eligibility for special education services, through development of an individualized education program (IEP), to ongoing follow-through to ensure the IEP is being implemented effectively.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
It is our philosophy to educate, support and encourage parents to become effective partners with schools in developing an appropriate IEP for their children. We will provide you with as much or as little support as you desire, from coaching and counseling you to advocate for your child yourself, to having DG Educational Consultants assume that role on your behalf.
SERVICES
- Assistance with draft emails, agendas, letters, and other important documents.
- Reviewing evaluations, educational plans, and other documents and developing a plan of action from such sources.
- Educational goal review for IEPs and help in creating goals and objectives that are specific, measurable, and achievable for the child.
- Accompanying families to school meetings, such as SSTs (Student Support Team), 504 Plan meetings, IEPs, parent conferences, and more.
- Coaching families on how to best advocate to meet their child’s needs.
- Providing referrals to a network of evaluators, therapists, and legal services when needed.
- Assistance with behavior intervention planning and disciplinary issues.
- Preparing a case for hand off to an attorney, if and when necessary.
